NOVEMBER 2009
NEW APPOINTMENTS FOR HMG

HMG is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Casson as Chief Executive effective from 1st November 2009. Nick replaces Andrew Murray who after 30 years at HMG will remain involved in the Group’s activities in the role of Consultant.

Nick has been involved with HMG since 2001 when the joint venture company Matrix was formed. HMG acquired Nick’s minority stake in Matrix in 2006 at which point he joined the HMG board.

Nick comments:-
‘HMG has a long history and we attribute great weight to our reputation and professionalism in the North West property market, something I am determined to both safeguard and build upon during my tenure. We have some great opportunities to add value to the diverse portfolio of properties HMG owns and we are going to be busy!’

HMG has also made three new non-executive board appointments, Stuart Keppie, Charles Murray and Joy Baggaley.

Stuart Keppie and Charles Murray are both founding partners of their respective commercial property practices, Keppie Massie in Liverpool and Regional Property Solutions in Altrincham. Joy Baggaley is Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive of The Riverside Group, a housing association which also has substantial commercial property interests and which manages over 50,000 properties.

Bill Murray, Chairman of HMG comments:-
‘Nick takes over at an interesting time. On the one hand the commercial property market is particularly challenging at present due to the global recession yet on the other we have identified a number of value enhancing opportunities within the portfolio which if exploited properly will generate enhanced returns over forthcoming years. Stuart, Charles and Joy bring complementary property and financial expertise to the HMG board and provide a depth of experience and balance of views which I know will prove to be of enormous value to the Group going forward.’
