HMG SET TO REALISE RETAIL OPPORTUNITIES IN BURTON

North West retail and commercial property investors, Hollins Murray Group Ltd (HMG) have acquired the long leasehold interest in Burton Place Shopping Centre, Burton upon Trent in a £10.5m deal.

Planned local authority regeneration of Burton’ town centre will be focussed on the centre and shops in the vicinity making Burton Place an investment with superb financial and expansion prospects.

The eight unit centre is currently home to a range of discount retailers such as Wilkinson and Home Bargains yet in keeping with HMG’s ever strengthening tenant portfolio, large well known national retailers such as Boots, Carphone Warehouse and Walmsleys also have branches here.

“The attraction to HMG with these properties is not only their perfect fit with our current portfolio”, comments HMG Chief Executive, Andrew Murray, “But also a healthy net initial yield along with the opportunity to improve and develop the centre in synchrony with plans put forward by East Staffordshire Borough Council. It is always our intention to realise the optimum potential of any site we invest in and Burton Place is a prime example of this”.

Situated in the heart of town, Burton Place was built in 1986 and under went a large refurbishment in 1999. It now attracts over 80,000 shoppers each week.
