OCTOBER 2006
HUNGRY HMG HAS APPETITE FOR SUBWAY

Leading North West property company, the Hollins Murray Group Limited (HMG), has announced a new letting to Subway at the Gerard Centre, in Ashton-in-Makerfield.

Subway has taken a 1,622 sq ft unit on a 10 year lease at a rent of £18,000 per annum.

The American founded retailer, which specialises in providing toasted and cold submarine sandwiches and salads, has experienced significant growth in recent years and aims to have 2,010 outlets across the world by 2010.

The Gerard Centre is a modern purpose built town centre retail development, currently comprising 20 units and anchored by Somerfield with tenants including major retailers such as Argos and Boots. Subway is the latest high-profile retailer to join a wide mix of retailers who have already realised the attraction of the Gerard Centre. HMG has owned the centre for more than ten years and has already invested more than £9.5m in the centre.

Andrew Murray, Chief Executive of Hollins Murray Group comments: "The calibre of tenants we are able to attract is testament to our reputation for running successful retail centres that answer the needs of local shoppers. We are delighted to announce that the popular Subway chain will be the next tenant to move in to the Gerard Centre and anticipate that its opening will assist in increasing footfall to the Centre."
